the tRNA anti-codon must find its complementary codon on the mRNA. before the tRNA reaches the mRNA it already has an amino acid attached to itself that corresponds to the anit-codon on the tRNA. once the tRNA recognizes the codon on the mRNA that corresponds to its anticodon it binds to the ribosome and allows for protein synthesis.
