An X-linked recessive trait is the one, whose gene is present on X-chromosome.
Examples of X-linked recessive trait are Hemophilia, Colour Blindness etc.
Such traits (X-linked) are more preferably found in males as males have only 1 X chromosome. (XY)
So, there is no dominant counterpart present on the Y chromosome to mask the effect of the gene.
On the other hand,
Females are generally the carriers of such diseases.
For ex.
Hemophilia is called 'Royal Disease' as Queen Victoria was a carrier of the trait and she passed it on to several generations.
Such traits generally follow Criss cross inheritence.
You can look for a pedigree chart on X-linked trait on 'Google Images'
