Hello everyone,

I am currently writing a short essay about grignard reagents and would like to say why they have been so successful in chemsitry.  My main reason was going to be that they are capable of adding an R group with pretty much no questions asked.  However I wanted to compare this to something.  Does anyone know of another reaction that will add a R functional group like the grignard reaction does?

Any other reason why grignards are useful would be appreciated too.

Thanks
