The stroke volume is the amount of blood pumped by the heart per beat. The normal range of stroke volume is 60 to 70 mL.

 To calculate the volume of blood in L your heart pumps per minute, you can multiply your estimated stroke volume by your heart rate (beats per minute).

For example, if your stroke volume is 70 mL and your heart rate is 72 beats per minute, then your cardiac output would be approximately 5.04 L/min.
