Calculate by averaging the pKa of the alfa carboxylic acid group of cysteine (2.05) and the pKa of the alfa ammonuim group (10.25). pI = 6.15 . Therefore, when pH= 6.15 cysteine has no net charge

average pI of the carboxyl(pk=1,8) & the side chain (pk=8,3)
pI=1,8+8,3/2=5,1
