Probable cause is a reasonable ground for belief in certain alleged facts. Reasonable suspicion a police officer’s belief based on all relevant circumstances that criminal activity is a foot. The Supreme Court has said that investigatory detentions must brief unless that is they confirm police suspicions of criminal conduct. Nevertheless the Supreme Court has been disinclined to place an arbitrary limit on detention. Instead the Court has considered the purpose of the stop and the reasonableness of the time required for the police to obtain any additional required information.
