There is a species of beetles that have red coloring and green coloring. We know that red is recessive. There are 396 red individuals and 557 green individuals.
what are the allele and genotype frequencies? what is the number of heterozygous?

Gg and GG are green
gg are red

there are a total of 953 in the population
396 are red so p^2 is 396 to get p you take the square root of the precentage (396/953).
p = 0.64 since p+q is 1 q is 0.36 now you can figure out q^2 and 2pq
