Hi, a good example of autosomal dominant is the Huntington's disease. Autosomal dominant occurs when the mutation happens in one copy of a gene, even when the other copy is normal.

I'd look up the disease to figure out how people get it.

Hmm, I see. Well, if one parent is heterozygous for the disease-associated allele, 50% of their offspring will have the disorder. If one parent is homozygous for the disease-associated allele, all their offspring will have the disorder. Autosomal dominant disorders often occur in every generation.
