Using anatomical similarities and differences is one way to classify living organisms in a phylogenetic fashion. What is the term given to a structure that is present but is no longer being used by that organism?

I think the answer you're looking for is
vestigial

can't be sure though.  There are any number of Old World monkeys that don't use their tails, but the tails aren't vestigial.
