C) Cuticles -  this is one of the defining traits that divides terrestrial plants from their ancestral algae. Some features of a plant cuticle existed when bryophytes first arose. The bryophytes have simpler thin layer but it limits dehydration.

The other traits are not universal across all plants. Spores and sperm belong with the basal groups bryophytes and pterophytes. Pollen belongs to the seed bearing plants. Vascular tissue belongs to the tracheophytes so excludes the bryophytes.
