The original question was, "Since the outer helix of DNA is negative, the positively charged histone would be:

A) Acidic
B) Basic
C) Undeterminable
D) None of the Above

I have asked three of my older professors and all three have instructed me that it is acidic, but my current professor is adamant that histones are basic.  If anyone has a clue and can provide links indicating histone's acidity, I would greatly appreciated it.  Thanks!!!

I would agree that Histones are basic.

DNA is an acid.
The histones surrounding the DNA are basic.
