Turgor pressure occurs when the plant's vacuole is filled with fluid, pressing the cell membrane against the cell wall. The purpose of Turgor pressure is to keep the plant upright (keep it from wilting).

Turgor pressure is the water pressure of the cell vacuole pushing against the cell wall. Doing this keeps the plant cell rigid, allowing it to stand up straight. These vacuoles are not found in animals, only plants. Animals do not have cell walls either.
