How do I solve second-degree equations using the factoring method?

I want a simple break down of doing this, as I am filling out my study guide & i can have a cheat sheet for my exam in class. (teacher allows it) I want to be able to follow my instructions in order to solve this type of problem.

Well, this ultimately depends on the expression. Some algebraic expressions require you to use decomposition, while others require simple factoring. Others even, such as certain binomials can be solved using the difference of squares method.
