A box with a total surface area of 0.48 m2 and a wall thickness of 3.44 cm is made of an insulating material. A 5.5Welectric heater inside the box maintains the inside temperature at 23.9?C above the outside temperature.

For conduction we have the eqn for Heat current  H = k*A*(Th - Tl)/L
So  k = H*L/(A*(Th-Tl) =  5.5W*0.0344m/(0.48m^2*23.9C) = 1.65x10^-2 W/m-K
