14. What effect did the administration of calcitonin injections have on the calcitonin-treated rat?


Calcitonin injections have no effect on vertebral bone density...it is anticipated when doing the experiment that there would be...but there is not. (Marieb)

The calcitonin showed no change in the vertebral bone density. This is somewhat contradictory to what is expected. We do not know why.
