I'm doing a paper about forensic pathology. What is the most amount of money they can be sued for. For example, I believe for malpractice of a general surgeon, it's $250,000 or something like that.

There are too many factors that determine the amount, you simply can't expect to be given an accurate answer with the amount of detail you provided.

A million bajillion dollars.

There are no caps in civil suits.  There SHOULD be, but there aren't.

$250,000 is laughable.  Think 100 times that.

No upper limits in how much you can sue for, just a limit on the money that if you go over it you will look like a fool (such as suing for 75 billion).
