we all know ribosome's catalytic activity is provided by the Rrna. So what's the point of the proteins? I heard they won't work without their ribosomal proteins, but why not? what could they possible even do?

Hi there

The protein part of the ribosome in conjunction with rRNA, make up the ribosomal subunits involved in the cellular process of translation.
