long story short i missed last week in school and now i'm trying to get caught up in homework and in math were solving equations with variables on each side. I really can't figure it out. I'm so confused. please help me!!

here are some examples you could help me with
2x=+3=x
3.1w+5=0.8+w
12n-23.2=14n+28.8

Thank you in advance.

You move the variable to one side and the other numbers to the other side and divde the coefficient infront of the variable

Take all the variable to one side and thr constants to other.

You transpose the constants in other side, and the variables on the other side. In transposition, moving something to the other side changes its sign.

In your example, 2x = 3+x, transpose x to the left making it 2x-x = 3, making it x = 3.

move the variable to one side and the non-variables to the other side

12n - 23.2 = 14n + 28.8

substract 12n from both sides

-23.2 = 2n + 28.8

substract 28.8 from both sides to isolate the variable on the right

-52= 2n

divide both sides by 2

-26 = n
