2 -- The patient is at risk for impaired immunity as the total protein is low (normal 6-8 g/dL), the albumin is low (normal 3.2-4.5 g/dL), and a low globulin (normal 2.3-3.4 g/dL). Normal levels of proteins are needed to maintain immunocompetence. The nutritional status is not adequate since the protein levels are decreased, the antigen-antibody reaction is not related to low levels of protein in this situation, and the protein levels do not indicate an autoimmune disorder.
