  When you see an object, your perception system performs a mental rotation to match the geons with a mental image of the target at a specific orientation.
  When you see an object your perception system uses top down processing to make a best guess about the object (i.e., it's a plane) and then breaks it down into geons based on past experience with similar objects (planes)
  Geons are usually easily perceived even if the object is partially obscured (such as when a plane flying through clouds that partially obscure the cylindrical geon of it's body.
