I would say the answer is A

As far as I studied, they form sort of receptors on the outside of the cell so it acts like a self antigen. A form of receptor for 'recognition'.

I would say A. Glycoproteins are integral membrane proteins with a carbohydrate that has been attached through glycosylation. They are mostly found on the extracellular surface as receptors for cell-cell interactions.
