I have read that during the RAA system, angiontensin 2 is the major component for vasoconstriction causing increased blood pressure. But aldosterone is also produced, what is the effect of this in relation to the renal system?

aldosterone has to do with sodium or Na absorption. An increase in aldosterone means that the kidneys will hold onto more Na in the blood stream. the key rule to always remember is that water follows salt. So if you are retaining more salt that means you are retaining more water which will increase your blood volume which increased blood pressure.
