The 1250 mL bottle of Lindeman's Shiraz wine in my kitchen is 10.25 % ethanol by volume. The density of ethanol is 0.789 g/mL. What is the molarity of the wine with respect to the solute ethanol?

volume of ethanol: 0.1025 * 1250 = 128mL
mass of ethanol = .789 * 128 = 101 g
molar mass of ethanol = 2 * 12 + 6 * 1 + 1 * 16 = 46
moles of ethanol = 101 / 46 = 2.19mol
molarity = 2.19/1.250 = 1.76M
