I'm suppose to find the slope of the tangent to the curve at the point where x=a.

The equation is Y= 9/(sq. root of x).
I'm not allowed to use the quotient rule.
Please help, I have tried but to no success.

No need to use the quotient rule..
9/Sqrt(x) is equivalent to 9(x)^(-1/2) at which point the derivative is -9/2(x)^(-3/2).
