I just finished running a two-group study and have completed my data analysis. In the chart below, the total variance in the study is partitioned into between- and within-groups variability. Based on the chart, what is your conclusion with regard to the size of my test statistic (e.g., t or F)?

A) Because within-group variability is large the test statistic is probably also large.
B) Because within-group variability is large the test statistic is probably small.
C) Because between-group variability is large the test statistic is probably small.
D) Because between-group variability is large the test statistic is probably also large.
