Even if the research hypothesis is true, an experiment may not have significant results because
A) just as there is a probability of rejecting the null hypothesis, there is always a chance that it must be accepted.
B) the sample drawn from the population being studied may not be extreme enough to provide a clear case for rejecting the null hypothesis.
C) sampling error and other uncontrolled variables may cause too much variance in the population.
D) the probability of rejecting the null hypothesis in any given study is always 5% or 1%, and drawing a sample that falls within that small range by chance is rare.
