A ball is dropped from  a height h with an initial velocity 0. It strikes the floor and rebounds to the height h'. Use g for the gravitational acceleration.

A) What is the coefficient of restitution between the ball and the floor when the ball hits the floor? (I could could solve this. It's e= root(h'/h)

B) What should the initial velocity of the ball be so that it can rebound to the height h?



Everyone please help me solve the question B. I'll apreciate a lot.

let v1 be the  velocity of the ball when it strikes the floor & v be the velocity to which it rebound

v1^2 = 2g*h'
v2^2 = 2gh      (h be the height to which it goes after striking the floor)

A) e = v2/v1 = sqrt(2gh')/sqrt(2gh) = sqrt(h'/h)
