A SNIa is observed in a nearby galaxy (d=2Mpc) with an apparent magnitude m=15. Deep HST data can see up to m=30. How far can a SNIa be detected with deep HST data?

A. 20 Mpc

The answer is C, but I'm not sure how the answer was gotten.
