• Fat-soluble vitamins are absorbed with fat in duodenum.
• Water-soluble nutrients are absorbed in duodenum and jejunum.
• postabsorption transport (lymph vs blood)
• Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body; water-soluble vitamins are readily excreted at high levels.
• Toxic levels of fat-soluble vitamins are more likely in the body.
• The body needs water-soluble vitamins more frequently.
