There might be a more up-to-date explanation, but what I remember is:
All cells of your body have the same genetic information, however, cells become specialized when some of the genetic information is masked by histomes. Histomes mask some genes in come cells and they mask other genes in other cells.  Genes that are not masked can be expressed,

A specialized cell will vary in amounts of the different organelles that are present. For example, a muscle cell or myocyte will contain many mitochondria, and a liver cell or hepatocyte willl contain more peroxisomes. Also, receptor sites on the plasma membrane will vary. The genetic code of the cell will determine what organelles are produced, as well as what active sites are present, and their amounts.
