Problem 4.23
Three strains of green-seeded lentil plants appear to have the same phenotype. The strains are designated G1, G2, and G3. Each green-seeded strain is crossed to a purebreeding yellow-seeded strain designated Y. The F1 of each cross are yellow; however, self-fertilization of F1 plants produces F2 with different proportions of yellow- and green-seeded plants as shown below.

   Part A
For what number of genes are variable alleles segregating in the G1 × Y cross?
Express your answer as an integer.

   gene(s) segregating in the F2 of G1 × Y

Part B
For what number of genes are variable alleles segregating in the G2 × Y cross?
Express your answer as an integer.

   gene(s) segregating in the F2 of G1 × Y

Part C
For what number of genes are variable alleles segregating in the G3 × Y cross?
Express your answer as an integer.
There is/are
   gene(s) segregating in the F2 of G1 × Y

Part D
Using the allele symbols A and a, B and b, and D and d to represent alleles at segregating genes, give the genotypes of parental and F1 plants in each cross.
Enter your answers separated by commas in the required order.
Y, G1, F1 of G1 × Y, G2, F1 of G2 × Y, G3, F1 of G3 × Y are

Part G
If green-seeded strains G1 and G2 are crossed, what is the genotype of F1 progeny? Consider that G1 is aaBBDD, and G2 is aabbDD.

Part H
What proportion of the F2 are expected to be green?

Part J
What proportion of the F2 will have yellow seeds?

Any explanation would suffice and would be greatly appreciated.. Anyways thanks for looking or even possibly trying.
Hope you all have a great day!!
