Is it just coincidence that exact time it would take for light to travel from Proxima Centauri to Earth is equal to exactly one Julian year?

Sorry, disregard this question. I misunderstood something... Nevermind.

Could you elaborate, connorp?

When I calculated, I didn't multiply the meter equivalent of a light year by 4.24, so obviously taking the meter equivalent of one light year divided by the speed of light would yield one Julian year. Silly mistake.

Sometimes all it takes is a decimal or not carrying the number over lol

You must be doing some hardcore calculations!

Not too complicated if you really think about. Just researching the (visual) time delay in relation to photons as observational distance increases. Really cool topic if you ask me.  As in the farther away one observes an object, the farther back one can observe its past. Pretty interesting.
