I am trying to do this pre-lab stuff and the lab manual doesn't explain things well. Thanks if you can help.......Calculate the amount of 0.1 M sucrose solution and the amount of dH2O needed to prepare 100 mL of unbuffered 20 mM sucrose. I am following the formula c1v1=c2v2  Is the correct answer 20.0 mM? and what is the amount of dH2) needed. thanks Sad Dummy

Let me try this out,

c1v1 = c2v2

0.1 M -> 0.1 M X 1000 = 100 mM [convert to mM]

(100 mM)(v1) = (20 mM)(100 mL)

v1 = 20 mL

So you need 20 mL of solution + 80 mL of dH2O

I think this is the answer.  Undecided But not 100 per cent sure.
