I'm pre-med and I love science and medicine, but Ecology?  Come on, it has to be the worst, most boring science subject EVER!  Who wants to learn about stupid plant interactions and terrain?  What is so exciting about terrain?!!!  I hate my Ecology Lab.

A good teacher can make any subject interesting, and a bad one can make any subject boring.  It sounds like you got one of the latter kind, unfortunately.

You pose several questions in one. Please let me reply to them one at a time.

a) Ecology scores 13 on the boring-and-worthless scale.

b) You do not seem to love ecology.

c) Ecologists, people interested in ecology, and other people in practical clothes like to learn about stupid plant interactions and terrain.

d) Terrain is something we all, due to gravitation, have to deal with. That is what makes it interesting.
