Hi, I would greatly appreciate some help with this question. I know that if crossing over in meiosis ceased to occur it would decrease the genetic variation of a population which would directly affect natural selection and evolution as a whole. Although, I am asked to describe two evolutionary consequences and I am having trouble doing so. Being specific and proving examples would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Linked alleles would remain linked forever. One really deleterious allele would spoil the whole chromosome -- it wouldn't matter if the other alleles endowed the organism with megaman abilities.
