I am doing some university research which requires an enzyme that can produce L-ascorbic acid as the end product. The problem is that my knowledge of biology is limited and I have no idea if there is one available that does this. I have searched the literature, but am coming up blank.

My questions are:

Is there a commercially available enzyme which I can be used to synthesise L-ascorbic acid for my university research?
If there is, could someone recommend a company that would have this enzyme in stock?

I hope that this question is appropriate for this forum. I am pretty desperate for an answer.

Can't you purchase it stock? We don't endorse have company so I can't really give you an honest answer as to what company is better than the other.
