John Locke (1632–1704).

Description
This British philosopher and physician laid the groundwork for an empiricist approach to philosophical questions. Locke’s revolutionary theory that the mind is a tabula rasa, a blank slate, on which experience writes is detailed in his Essay Concerning Human Understanding (1690).
