A blood serum test also can be performed at an outside laboratory, Salpingo-Uopharectomy Surgical removal of the fallopian tube and ovary. Tubal Ligation Surgical tying off of the fallopian tube to prevent conception from taking place. This results in the sterilization of the female. Wet Mount or Wet Prep Examination of vaginal discharge for the presence of bacteria and yeast. A vaginal smear is placed on a microscope slide, wet with normal saline, and then viewed under a microscope by the physician.
