Here is the question:
Sally is riding the Giant drop at a local amusement park.  Sally free-falls for 2.6 seconds. What is the final velocity and how far will she have fallen?
BTW: This is assuming gravity is 9.8 m\s

It's not a perfectly worded question.

But I'd assume that the initial velocity is zero. So you've got initial velocity, time and acceleration. Which will allow oyu to calculate the final velocity, and the distance traveled.

We will also assume that she had no initial velocity (i.e. she was just dropped, not thrown).

Vf = (9.8 m/s^2)(2.6 s) = 25.48 m/s

d = (1/2)(9.8 m/s^2)(2.6 s)^2 = 33.124 m

you mean acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. So..... I find it easier to graph an equation like this. Make a graph, with the velocity being the y-axis, and time being  the x-axis. Given that the accel is 9.8 (the slope is 9.8), that means that acceleration is velocity over time, which states that acceleration is nothing more than change in velocity over time. so, to find the final velocity, just know that V/2.6=9.8.....so just multiply by 2.6 on both sides to find V, or final velocity. V=25.5 m/s... to find displacement, just use the thing you would use to find the area of a polygon. Since it's accelerating, it's going to have a slope, therefore it's shaped like a triangle. 1/2 X BH. so.... you know that velocity or height is 25.5 m/s, and that time is 2.5 seconds. To find displacement just do "1/2(25.5)(2.5)= 31.85 m". So, are you mad?
