In Guinea pigs, the brown coat (B) is a dominant over the cream-coloured coat (b), and straight hair (H) is dominant over curly hair (h). Using a Punnett square, complete the cross between a heterozygous brown, curly-haired individual and a cream-coloured, homozygous straight-haired individual. State the parent genotypes, gametes, and the F1 Phenotypes and genotypes.

Sir. i just solved this yet...

B = brown. b = cream. H = straight. h = curly.
Parent 1 - heterozygous brown, curly-haired (Bbhh genotype).
Parent 2 - cream, homozygous straight-haired (bbHH genotype).

Gamets: Bh, bh (1st parent)
      bH (2nd parent)

and i dont know how to solve punnete square, phenotype and genotype of offspring.. PLEASE HELP me my exam is on monday.. Frowning Face

I wrote on your other thread:

2. B = brown. b = cream. H = straight. h = curly.

Parent 1 - heterozygous brown, curly-haired (Bbhh genotype).
Parent 2 - cream, homozygous straight-haired (bbHH genotype).

    B  b                  h  h
b  Bb bb           H  Hh Hh
b  Bb bb           H  Hh Hh

1/2 (2/4) Bb      1 (4/4) Hh
1/2 (2/4) bb

Genotypes of offspring:
50% of F1 will have BbHh genotype.
50% of F1 will have bbHh genotype.

Phenotypes of offspring:
50% of F1 will have brown, straight hair (from BbHh genotype).
50% of F1 will have cream, straight hair (from bbHh genotype).

Bulgaria.. Thanks alot dear.
Actually your is a bit different. You got 2 punette square and i got 1.

What i did in my punette sqaure.

   Bh            bH
bH   BbHh    bbHh
Bh   Bbhh            bbhh

The F1 generation will then be

25% BbHh (heterozygous for both brown coat and straight hair)
25% bbHh (cream-colored coat and heterozygous for straight hair)
25% Bbhh (heterozygous brown coat and curly hair)
25% bbhh (homozygous cream-colored coat and curly hair)

Would you check my work please. If i'm incorrect. correct me please. Thanks Slight Smile
