I think it's when a cell excretes something as phagocytosis is when it has/is taking in something like bacterium

In cellular biology, pinocytosis ("cell-drinking") is one of three forms of endocytosis, a process in which small particles are taken in by a cell by splitting into smaller particles. The particles then form small vesicles which subsequently fuse with lysosomes to hydrolyze, or to break down, the particles. This process requires adenosine triphosphate, the chemical compound used as energy in a majority of cells. Pinocytosis is primarily used for the absorption of extracellular fluids (ECF), and in contrast to phagocytosis, generates very small vesicles. Unlike receptor-mediated endocytosis, pinocytosis is unspecific in the substances that it transports. The cell takes in surrounding fluids, including all solutes present.

cell surface mebrane invaginate inward forming a flask-shaped vesicle which is the pinched off to form a pinocytic vesicle in the cytoplasm. vesicles formed by pinocytosis are smaller than phagocytic vacuoles and contain fluid and dissolved solutes.

It is the process by which a cell absorbs nutrients by envagination.
