1) Find the domain and range of  f(x) = 2x^3 + 8x^2 +1 is increasing.
(Im pretty sure that the domain is  x Not equal to 1. But i need help with the range.)

2) Solve the equation by completing the sqaure x^2 - 5x-7

3) find then interval(s) on which f(x)=2x^3 + 8x^2 + 1 is increasing
(This one I dont have the slightest clue so please explain this one)

4) Solve the inequality 2|3x - 8| > 10. Express your answer in interval notation.
(Explain please)

5)The following transformations are applied (in given order) to the graph of y= radical x (the x is supposed to be under a radical but i didnt know how to type that)

a) a vertical shrink by a factor of 0.3
b) left 5 units
 c) down 3 units

What is the following  equation for the graph produced as a result of applying these transformations

6) Mr. Phan invests $3,100 in a savings account that pays 3.75% interest compounded monthly. If there are no other transactions, when will his balance reach $12,440?
Oh wait wait I wrote the wrong equation for question one. I meant to
write f(x) = 2x-5/x-1.
(Im pretty sure that the domain is x Not equal to 1. But i need help with the range.)
By the way I really appreciate your help
