A Drosophila P element 3.0 kb in length is modified by adding a 1.0-kb intron sequence to one of its exons. A copia element of 6.8 kb is modified by adding the same 1.0-kb intron to its central region.

What is the length of the newly transposed copia element?

I tried 7.8, but that's incorrect.
