A protein P has two binding sites for oxygen as shown:

         K1                 K2
      P + O2 ⇄ P O2            and             P O2 + O2 ⇄ P (O2)2

where the binding constants are    K1   =   [P O2 ]     and  K2   =    [P (O2 )2 ]  .
                                                       [P ] [O2]                      [P O2 ] [O2]

(i)   Calculate the value of the ratio K2 / K1 of these binding constants, assuming that there is independent and equivalent binding to the two sites.

(ii)   Derive the Adair equation for the fractional binding of oxygen in this system; describe briefly how the ratio K2 / K1 would alter if the protein displayed positive or negative cooperativity.

Any help on these questions.step by step how to work this out ...specially first one.Would really appreciate it.
Thanks
