Research on phonological awareness instruction has found that:
 
  a. Phonological instruction can improve the phonological skills of students with reading disabilities.
  b. Phonological training programs that use technology (such as Fast ForWord) are clearly superior to other programs.
  c. There is no evidence that phonological training programs can enhance phonological skills.
  d. Phonological skills can only be successfully taught in an intensive, one-on-one format.
