The nurse is caring for an adult patient with extensive burns on the front of the trunk, including the genitalia, and the fronts of both legs. Using the rule of nines, the nurse would document that the burn size as:
1.   13%.
2.   17%.
3.   25%.
4.   37%.

Using rule of 9's, front of the trunk would be 18%, genitalia is 1%, and front of both legs would be 9%+9%=18% so your answer would be 37%.

Per the rule of nines, the front trunk equals 18, the fronts of the legs equal 18, and the genitalia equal 1.
