Why are telomeres important?
 
  a. They keep track of the number of cell divisions that a cell undergoes.
  b. They provide extra nucleotides when needed during replication.
  c. They are needed for histone and DNA arrangement.
  d. They provide a site of attachment for spindles in cell division.
  e. They provide a buffer against the loss of more valuable DNA.
