Once peptide bond formation occurs, translocation moves the ribosome one codon further along the mRNA. After translocation, what is the configuration of tRNAs and polypeptide on the ribosome?

Ans: The discharged tRNA moves from the P site to the E site, and the peptidyl-tRNA in the A site moves to the P site. The A site is now available for a new aminoacyl-tRNA to enter, and the A site is positioned over the next codon.
