ANS: C
The alternative pathway is activated by several substances found on the surface of infectious or-ganisms, such as those containing lipopolysaccharides. The classical pathway is primarily acti-vated by antibodies that are proteins of the acquired immune system. The lectin pathway is simi-lar to the classical pathway but is independent of antibody. It is activated by several plasma pro-teins. The kinin pathway is involved in coagulation.
