1. Calculate the allelic frequencies in the gene pools of the following populations:
a. In a population of rabbits 40% are homozygous black, 40% are brown (b) and 20% are heterozygous black.
b. In a population of snapdragons  30% are red and 20% white.

2. What is the recessive allelic frequency in the gene pools of this population:
81% brown fur individuals, 19% black fur individuals

3. In a population of rabbits at genetic equilibrium, the phenotype frequencies are 75% black and 25% brown. What is the allelic frequency of the brown alleles, the recessive allelic frequency.

Can you guys help me these problems?

p^2 = 0.40
p = SQRT(0.40)
p = 0.6324

p + q = 1
p = 0.6324 (dominant allele)
q = 1 - p = 0.3676

The information they are providing here is insufficient. Do we assume that brown is dominant?

If so, you do the same thing as above.

p^2 = 0.81

.
.

Your goal is to find q, given that is represents the recessive allele.
